Welcome!
Hello friends and family, and thank you for visiting our wedding website! We're looking forward to the big day, and hope that this site will help us and you prepare for it.
Our Story
We first met in Mrs. Garrison's 6th grade math classroom at Asheville Middle School in August of 1999. We won't claim that it was love at first sight (Aaron was still wearing nylon shorts with his shirt tucked in and socks pulled up too high, and Elizabeth was already about as tall as she is now), but we did meet each other, and soon became friends.
We talked to each other through middle school and "dated" each other's friends (Elizabeth even helped Aaron put up a happy birthday sign for his girlfriend inside the girl's quarters on an overnight field trip). Eventually we became best friends in high school, and Elizabeth convinced Aaron to play in the rain a few times. At long last, we discovered that we liked each other as more than friends. We dated in high school, starting junior year.
We broke up before we went away to college, but still kept in touch. We visited each other a few times. During one of these trips, we visited Mountain Lake outside of Blacksburg, and had a grand time. It soon became obvious that we weren't doing ourselves any good by pretending we weren't in a relationship. So, we began dating again, and were in a long distance relationship for a while.
The Proposal
Eventually, Aaron decided that it was time to pop the question. He took Elizabeth back up to Mountain Lake (one of our earlier trips that we both have fond memories of, and which played a part in us getting together in college). We hiked around the lake, and after having lunch, we wandered around the grounds, and eventually wound up at the gazebo which played a big role in Dirty Dancing. After dancing in the gazebo, Aaron pulled the ring out of his backpack, got down on one knee, and stammered out 7 words: "Elizabeth Snow Pressman, will you marry me?" Elizabeth said "Yes, of course!"
